Christmas Tree Recycling & Holiday Waste Collection in the Woodlands, TX

 In The Woodlands

The Woodlands Township offers plenty of civic services to help residents properly dispose of their Christmas trees and holiday waste after the holiday season.

Christmas trees tend to dry out and become major fire hazards after about a month (and without proper waterings). Coupled with lights, tinsel, and fireplaces roaring, that spells disaster, which is why it is especially important that all residents properly dispose of their Christmas trees and other holiday waste.

If you are a resident of the The Woodlands, TX, here is where you can dispose of your Christmas tree.

Public Christmas Tree Collection

Green Christmas trees will be picked up weekly by the yard trimmings truck as part of regularly scheduled curbside services.

  • Remove all decorations, lights and tanglers.
  • Remove the tree stand.
  • Place tree at curb on regular service day.

Flocked Christmas trees require a special pickup and must be landfilled. Please schedule a bulk pickup by calling (800) 800-5804 or e-mailing cssatex@wm.com at least two business days before your regular service day.

Removing Holiday Waste

Extra household waste requires a $1.75 pink tag, which can be purchased from The Woodlands Township offices, The Woodlands Township Recreation Center, Kroger and Randalls at Grogans Mill and Panther Creek.

For drop off of your holiday waste, residents can visit The Woodlands Recycling Center on Research Forest Drive. It will be open every Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., regardless of the holidays.
